  Major General Ivo (L), Brigadier General Agha (M) and Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti (R) Three senior military officers from Cameroon's North West Region have been entrusted with strategic responsibilities following the latest appointments and transfers within the country's defence forces. The changes, announced by the President of the Republic, see the officers either retained or appointed to key positions considered crucial to the command and administration of the defense forces. Among the notable appointments is Major General Ivo Yenwo Desancio, who has been maintained as the Director of Presidential Security (DSP). The Directorate of Presidential Security is responsible for the protection of the Head of State, the Presidency and other strategic state institutions, making it one of the most sensitive security units in the country. Bamenda Flood Tragedy: Bodies of Two Missing Children Found

  The remains of the two kids removed from water beds by the Army Rescue Unit   The bodies of two children who were swept away by floods in Bamenda have been found. The children are Azah Marie Clofas, 5 years old, and Tse Emmanuel, 7 years old.  They were carried away by strong floodwater around 5pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026. It happened near their home at Ben and Bros street, Ntarinkon, in Bamenda II subdivision, after heavy rain. Reports say the girl was swept away first when she tried to pick up her slippers from the floodwater. The boy was also swept away when he tried to help his sister. The Army Rescue Team, led by Senior Warrant Officer Taku Paul, started searching again at 6am on Monday, August 3, 2026. Tse Emmanuel’s body was found at about 7:10am. Azah Marie’s body was found at about 7:50am. Archbishop of Canterbury Calls for Peace, Unity During Cameroon Visit

Archbishop Mullally arrived at the Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport on Friday, July 31, marking her first official visit to Cameroon since assuming office as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury and the first woman to hold the position. The visit forms part of her inaugural tour of Africa, which also included Ghana.         Tubah DO (R), receiving the award The Divisional Officer (DO) for Tubah Subdivision, Massango Metougue Narcisse, has been honoured as the "North West All-round Best Divisional Officer in Crisis Management of the Year and a Role Model in Public Administration." The award was presented ln behalf of The Watchdog Tribune Newspaper by Ntumfor Bar Nico Halle during a ceremony held in Doualal over the weekend. Receiving the distinction, the DO of Tubah dedicated the award to his colleagues and collaborators across the region, insisting that the recognition was not his alone but reflected the collective efforts of administrators working under difficult conditions.
